RISE2025 is Ready to Welcome You! Nau Mai, Haere Mai (Welcome)

What have been the milestones in your life?

Today is one of those milestone days for me! As we launch dates for #rise2025 open course programmes I am reminded of the journey we have come on to get to this point. It has been challenging, emotional and exhilarating all in the same breath. And we are loving every minute.

It is so rewarding to see organisations like Māori Women’s Development Inc. developing a coaching culture in everything they do. Through the leadership of CEO Teresa Tepania-Ashton I’ve witnessed the transformation of their organisation through their commitment to creating a coaching culture. Teresa personally committed to the #rise2025 training and she now proudly introduces herself as the CEO of MWDI and ICF (International Coach Federation) coach-in-training. Teresa leads by example and is part of the first cohort of #rise2025 coaches who are now into phase two of their training. Everyday #rise2025 coaches share their coaching successes and challenges on their private Facebook page and every day I am inspired by them.

Are you ready to lead and develop your people?

#rise2025 is about the collectivism of a global indigenous community of 100,000 women who innately lead as part of their natural habitual talent to keep their families and communities nourished, housed and safe. Leadership is not defined by status and a title on a business card. Leadership is everywhere. For me growing up in Aotearoa (New Zealand) Leadership was everywhere, especially on our marae. Out the front welcoming guests onto Mangatangi marae were our elders, both men and women have their roles to play and they stand side-by-side. In the kitchen I witnessed Leadership from washing the dishes to preparing all the kai (food) ready to feed the visitors. And our Māori wāhine (women) in the front and back of the marae led easily and effortlessly. Across the world indigenous women lead their communities and nations out of poverty, war and hunger every day. Survival of the fittest minds, bodies and souls.

#rise2025 coaching and leadership for indigenous women is taking our natural habitual leadership talent and building on values, purpose, emotional and cultural intelligence through coaching as a leadership style. And these skills are life skills you can take into your whanau (family) as a parent, into our corporate organisation as a leader or as a business woman who wants to create a coaching business unique to your passion and expertise.

Will you be one of 100,000 #rise2025 coaches?

We hope so! We have 45 places open for indigenous women who identify with being Māori, Pacific Island and Asian. Our first milestone is that 100 #rise2025 coaches will complete the ICF Approved ACSTH certification with us by January 2017. And we are well on our way to achieving this milestone.
